Hosting an Event at Stockholm Hackerspace

Hackerspace Stockholm  is available for external bookings — workshops, offsites, hackathons, ctfs, and more! Every booking comes with a member host on-site, fast internet, space access and access to the kitchen. We're a working hackerspace, and we want the events we host to reflect that.

What We Welcome

We host events that align with the spirit of the space — technical, creative, collaborative, and community-minded.

  • Tech workshops & hands-on skill sessions
  • Team offsite days
  • Hackathons (open or internal)
  • Product demos & launch events
  • Networking & community meetups
  • Photography & video shoots (tech/maker context)

What We Don't Do

  • Pure sales or recruitment pitches with no community value
  • Events that exclude or charge our members without good reason
  • Anything that conflicts with our values (surveillance tech, predatory data practices, etc.)
  • Events requiring us to sign NDAs that restrict our members

If you're unsure whether your event is a fit, just ask — we'd rather have the conversation than turn you away without one.

Do You Need to Be a Member to Book?

No. External companies and individuals can book the space directly. Every booking is assigned a **member host** who will be present throughout your event. They're there to help things run smoothly — not to babysit.

Event Booking Process

1. Submit a proposal — use the [Propose an Event](#propose-an-event) form below or email us with the basics: what, who, when, and how many people.
2. We review it — we'll check it fits our values, capacity, and calendar. We aim to respond within a few working days.
3. Confirm the details — once approved, we'll lock in the date, go over logistics, and assign your member host.
4. Run your event — your host will be on-site from setup through to the end.

Lead time:  We recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance. For larger events (50+ people, multi-day, or events needing significant setup), please give us at least 4 weeks.

Event Pricing & Tiers

Type Who Price
Member events Hackerspace members running community events Free
Community rate Non-profit groups, open-source projects, student orgs Subsidised — contact us
Standard rate External companies, startups, commercial teams Paid — contact us for a quote
Custom rate Got something crazy cooking? Contact Us!

All tiers include the base package described below. Pricing for the standard rate depends on duration, headcount, and requirements. We're not trying to be a venue business — we're trying to cover our costs and keep the space running.

What's Included

Every booking includes:

  • Seating  — tables and chairs configurable for workshops, talks, or collaborative work
  • AV equipment — projector/screen or display, microphone, and speakers
  • Fast internet  — wired and Wi-Fi
  • Power — plenty of outlets and extension cables throughout the space
  • Kitchen access  — fridge, kettle, coffee, and prep space. You're welcome to bring your own food and drinks.
  • Member host  — a member present for the duration of your event

Available on request:  Access to workshop machines and tools (laser cutter, 3D printers, soldering stations, etc.) — discuss requirements during booking

Event Rules & Responsibilities

We keep the rules simple. If you book the space, you're responsible for it.

  • Noise — be mindful of neighbours and other members using the space. Late-night events may have restrictions — confirm in advance.
  • Cleanup — leave the space as you found it. This includes the kitchen, toilets, and any areas you used. If you're not sure what "as you found it" means, ask your host.
  • Guests — you're responsible for the conduct of your guests while they're in the space.
  • Liability  — HackSthlm is not liable for loss or damage to personal belongings. For larger events, we may ask you to confirm your own event insurance.
  • Machine access  — if you've requested tool or machine access, only people who have been briefed may use them. Your host will manage this.
  • Cancellations  — please give us as much notice as possible. Late cancellations for paid bookings may be subject to a fee.
